Here’s a little adapter we came up with to hold the degree wheel on crankshafts. It’s great when adding keyways. Use a piece of machined Delrin that fits snuggly into the pilot bushing hole and precisely locates the degree wheel. Not all hubs have exact 90° offset keys, so this really makes it accurate to set up. The “dye witness” method of marking them doesn’t always work when the keyways in the hub have been chamfered. It also works good for balancing, when you are vector splitting off an existing hole, while making corrections on the mill.
