I needed to install some flanged sleeves into a non-sleeved block. The only method I had to cut the counter bores is with a deck mount boring bar using the sleeve cutter bit. Because I had to feed the column by hand, I attached a large tarp strap to my chain hoist to put enough tension on the column to take out the slack in the gear. I also attached a magnetic dial indicator to the column to measure the depth. This ended up working well.
